The Public Works garage depot is located in the Industrial Park in the Town of Nackawic. The Department consists of a Foreman/Building Inspector and three full time personnel.

The Department is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of the water supply and distribution system including daily checks on equipment and lines, testing as required to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act and repairs as required. In 1999 Nackawic's water quality was recognized by the Canadian Water Resources Association as being one of the top four in the country.

The installation, operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection and treatment system includes daily checks on equipment and lines, testing as required to comply with the water quality regulations of the Clean Environment Act, and repairs as required.

Other responsibilities include maintenance of all municipal land and structures, streets and sidewalks, snow clearing, storm drains and hydrant maintenance.

Garbage collection in the Town of Nackawic takes place on Mondays. Any questions may be directed to Sewell Sanitation at 325-7283.

Recycling pick up takes place on the first Tuesday of the month. Any questions may be directed to Trius at 459-7300.
Hazerdous waste disposal-Residents may take their household hazerdous waste, ie. paint, oil, pesticides,flamable or corrosive materials to the Fredericton Solid Waste Commission,1775 Allison Dr.on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.
