The volunteer fire department consists of a Fire Chief (William Hopkins) 2 Captains , 2 Lieutenants and 15 Firefighters. All firefighters have level one training with many holding level two as well, basic first aid and CPR training.
The Department has three trucks and a rescue van to service the Town of Nackawic and surrounding service districts, several businesses and farms.
Members of the volunteer fire department visit the three Nackawic public schools to conduct fire drills each autumn and makes recomendations to the school based on the success of the exercise.
Besides responding to fires in the area, the department participates in a mutual aid program with neighboring fire departments. They also assist the RCMP and ambulance personnel as needed.

1989 GMC Topkick 3126 Cat engine, 275hp, 6 speed manual transmission. Metal fabricated aluminum body, Hole Q-flow 840 pump with foam-pro class A foam sprayer. Amdor roll up doors, 2 Scott SCBA, positive pressure fan, generator, 700 feet of volume hose and 600 feet of 1-3/4" hose and 1500 feet of 1-1/2" hose.
Rescue no.5
2003 freightliner, 4 door cab Mercedes, 300 hp engine, 6 speed manual transmission. Metal fabricated aluminum walk around rescue body and amdor roll up doors. 4 bottle, 4500 psi cascade system, 4 scott Ap 50 ACBA's holmatro rescue tools. Spreader, cutter, rams, power unit and 2- 30 foot hoses. HAS MAT kits, water/ice rescue suites, 700 feet of rope, full complement of hand tools, trauma kit including O2, KED spine board, collars, head board, and stokes basket.
